Pick a rhyme, google it..... see what comes up You should find pictures, ideas for craft and activities eg - 5 little monkeys... Make a monkey puppet – monkey on a stick works well, use a template (Google images), colour it in, then glue or sellotape a lolly stick on the back Make a bed for the monkeys – an old shoe box and one of dolly’s blankets Sing the song next time you are outside, using the puppets while the children are jumping. This way, the puppets can fall off the bed, rather than the children (less hurt bottoms!) Count how many monkeys are left at the end of each verse to encourage simple mathematical skills and subtraction Don’t forget to role play the song – ‘ouch’ to falling off the bed; mime a telephone; mummy wagging her finger saying ‘no more monkeys’ Make a rhebus rhyme and laminate it - children can count the monkeys and see the words and pictures together Have fun! Good ideas Sarah, but what is a rhebus rhyme???
My children act out the five little monkeys on the trampoline (but not all at once). It has a net around it so has the added advantage of making them look like monkeys in the zoo!!!! Oh and the added safety feature of course!!!!

Rebus rhymes - have a look here... www.enchantedlearning.com/rhymes/Diddle.shtmlThey are great for non-readers and I use them all the time - I do them slightly differently from this example, I replace a word with a picture rather than put the pic alongside the word Have you seen the PB Bear books? They do a similar thing with really good clear pictures instead of words www.amazon.co.uk/Pajama-Bedtime-Bears-School-P-B/dp/0789411725I find non-readers and children with dyslexia enjoy them cos they can join in and 'read' after a few go throughs....
