Hi Angel
I have just popped over to have a look at it and have to say I think it might be very good. I have registered with them.
I think I might do the first one (3 levels to do) and see what it is like .... I won't be able to do it until beginning of August though as funds a little short at the moment due to my holiday.
I am hoping that the 'summer rates' will still be available then.

hi as this is a mandatory training like birth to three and first aid the eydcp should run it in each area
i know a friend of mine who has just given up childminding to become a trainer has just done her training for this and is arranging dates for nottinghamshire but i'm sure ofsted would be impressed if the training was done early.

Sounds interesting but how do they work? As in, is it all online, do they email you the stuff you need to know etc? Sorry for sounding thick!

Got one of the Training Packages courses to find out what it's all about and tbh it's very basic! It was half price and I'd have felt very cheated if i'd paid full. You get a course manual to print and a pre-printed certificate all at once.... and the course didn't really tell me that much Sarahx

Hi I'm not yet registered as just awaiting my registration certificate but I have looked at the link supplied and my question is - is it worth doing the three packages and how exactly does it work? Do you get a time limit? Will this course stand you in good stead with Ofsted? Will local areas do courses that it is best to wait? Is it hard and time consuming? Quite a few questions there!!!! Thanks

Welcome to the forum
I think any certificate is good and I am sure Ofsted would think so too?
From what I have been told it is not to difficult and fairly basic - not sure if that is a good thing or bad ?
I would imagine that in time local areas will do courses You may not be able to get on one or may not be able to attend due to your minding / time / distance
So on line courses can be a great help
Not sure about this one though it does sound good but who knows until they have tried it ?
We need someone to do it and come back and tell us it was worth it !!!

HI ALL I PAID FOR THE THREE COURSES AND DOWNLOADED EVERYTHING YESTERDAY, PRINTED OUT THE CERTIFICATE BEFORE EVEN LOOKED AT THE PAPER WORK, IT IS VERY BASIC,. FOR SOMEONE JUST STARTING IT COULD BE HANDY AND YES TRUE WHAT ANGEL SAID ANY CERTIFICATE IS A GOOD THING TO HAVE, I WOULD SAY THAT IF YOU WERE JUST STARTING OUT IT IS HANDY BUT FOR THE MOST OF US THE INFORMATION GIVEN IS WHAT WE ALL READY KNOW, I WENT THROUGH AND I FINSHED THE COUPLE OF TASKS YOU ARE GIVEN WHILE EATING MY TEA, ON ALL THREE COURSES, I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY UNLIKE THE FOOD HYGIENE AND THE CHILD ABUSE COURSES, MANDY

Don't you get this training from your Children's Information . Service?? We do in Nottingham. We have to do a pre-training course (2 hours) at a local centre and then can book onto the courses which start in November. I thought all CIS were more or less the same in line with the ECM strategy?

Yes you are right a lot of us do
But there are also those of us here who do not get the time to go on courses or they are far away or when we are working
So we prefer to do it online if we can
It is not expensive but from what I can gather with this one it is more if you are newly registered

After speaking with Mandy this morning and her telling me what she got I definately would not waste my money on these courses.
Yes you are right Donna but as Angel said it is not always easy for people to get there and to be honest if the courses they run end up being anything like BTTM courses then it will be an absolute nightmare to try and get on them anyway!

Given the offer price of the course I would say it would be good for anyone who may have an inspection coming up, to show they were forward thinking and already taking on board the EYFS. Otherwise it sounds like they are a bit of a waste.

rainbowmam could be right if an inspection is due, but the courses shouldnt be called courses, just information sheets with a certificate

Is that all it is then?
Sounded so good at first too just goes to show
Not really good value for money then by the sounds of it ?
Think everyone should give this a wide berth ?!
