Birth to Three Activity Explained
Hi Everyone
Just to explain how I have set the activities out I have tried to do them so you all understand.
Assessing babies and children's learning can be difficult if you watch and listen as you work and play with the babies and children you can use the knowledge to reflect on the progress of the individual child.
Sometimes you will see the baby / child do something new or something which may concern you.
Observe what you see and keep notes of the achievement you see and the date and time you observe it. Keep this in the child's folder ( or whatever you use to document evidence )
This will help you in the future so you remember when it happened
Also to help with planning for each individual
Also great to discuss with parents
Observations will help you to plan for the next activities
In each activity using some books and notes that I have used myself for the last year or so I will try to explain the activity , what you need, what to do, the babies / child's individual needs and what they are learning
All the activities I have used are what we use in our homes so you do not need to go out and buy anything special
What you will realise when you read some of these is that you already do the activity anyway you just did not know where or how it fit in to the Birth to Three framework
It is like A HEALTHY CHILD most people make the mistake in thinking that this must always be about things to do with food - not so as you can see from the activities
These are simple ideas that you can adapt your self to suit the needs of the children you are looking after , if I have put a young baby for example you may find that a young baby does not do some of these things but it does not matter
All the activities fit into the ideas that I gave you the other week but I have put them in order so you see where they go
I am sure you will understand and be able to add all those activities that you did not realise you were already doing to your Birth to Three
I hope I remember everything and I hope they help everyone
