Cheryl is right - if you're starting out, it's good to have some advice from the professionals! Once you're up and running in a few years' time, make your own stuff but just now you want to be concentrating on the children, not worrying about how to keep your money Sarahx PS I have heard good things about this product but I cannot in any way endorse or recommend it and I do not use it myself.... www.geocities.com/funky_finley/accounts.html

That is the spreadsheet package I use and I think it's fab. A word of warning though I would steer clear if you don't have excel on your PC. I know Susan bought the same package and couldn't get it to work even with the free software download available.
I find it really easy to use and it saves loads of time. If you have a working knowledge of Excel it would be easy enough for you to do it yourself but I was just lazy and preferred to buy it!!!

That is the spreadsheet package I use and I think it's fab. Thank you for the vote of confidence! The reason I developed this workbook was to speed up doing my accounts, it used to take me ages to get everything adding up correctly - now the workbook does all that automatically! I'm sorry your friend was having problems with the compatible download though. There a quite a few people who use it and haven't had any problems. I do agree using Excel is best - but the other one works quite well. Did your friend contact me to see if I could help? Lisa

I bought the NCMA book the first year as someone has already said it does help when you are first starting out. I then adapted this on my computer and used that. I did a business plan last year and adapted mine from info I got on there (basically as I am sad and like to make more work for myself lol).
I am quite okay doing my own accounts as I like to know if the IR ever visited I could explain everything but I also pay a childminding Accountant to do my books (not necessary as I hear the online asessment thingy is easy to use) but I use him for peace of mind in case I have any queries. I really do not need to use him and certainly wouldn't if he charged £200 like my friend pays her accountant!!!!!!
Remember acounts only need to be simple nothing complicated .
money in, money out and hopefully they will tally

I am sure she did contact you but was still unable to use the program. The thread is on here somewhere.
