inland revenue notification

I notified the inland revenue about a month ago that I'd started working as a child minder but have not had anything back from them. I downloaded a form from the website, filled it out and posted it and thought they would send me some kind of acknowledgment so I would know they had received it. Is it normal for them to take so long or should i make inquiries.

I notified them at the beginning of August. I have rung them twice since then and they just tell me that there is a wait of about 6 weeks for delivery of whatever it is they need to send. They haven't even sorted my NI contributions yet.

i`m the same as marie told them about mid-august and called them to ask and was told to wait about 6 weeks to sort out i bet ther not this lazy sending out bills

huh , they were quick to send my national insurance invoice thru but have recieved my special self employed number yet (its got a much more proffesional sound name than that lol ) .

They get there in their own good time!

You'll get a return come through the post soon enough in April LOL

I did a form on line about 3 weeks ago and hadnt heard anything. I rang them on Tues to ask if they had received my application and was told they had no trace of it, suprise!!!

They then took all my details off me over the phone and said a pack would be with me within the next 14 days. I had a call from them yesterday asking if i needed any business advice and if I had any problems to call them. I thought that was quite good. They are also sending me details of courses I can go in in relation to doing the books and tax etc.

Glad you posted that Sam as I registered on line about 5 weeks ago and haven't heard anything. Better chase it up!

Me too, i rang them and they had not reicieved anything..bah
so i have registered over the phone...thx louise otherwise i would still be waiting like an idiot!
