Hi everyone,
I know this is a daft question but if you are changing your car for a bigger one for childminding purposes can you put it down as expenses or at least part of it?
Thanks Debbie

Hi,
My understanding is that you can only off set a NEW car against tax.

Hi
I think but I am not sure, but there is two types of ways one is you offset some of the car into your expenses but then you have to do full accounts with receipts for everything that is even if it is below £10.00.
Or you do not and just claim the mileage allowance not sure that makes sense I am sure somewhere it is in one of the NCMA books I got through a while ago I will see if I can find it.
Someone else may know.

You're right. Don't know anything about it except that you can claim BUT its called capital expenses and if you do claim this you will have to keep receipts for EVERYTHING and you will not be able to claim the allowances under the NCMA agreement.
Might be helpful to talk to an accountant first.

I agree. I spoke to my stepfather who is an accountant and it is quite a complicated process if you start doing full accounts. Hwoever, if you have someone who could do it for you, it may pay off if you are earning enough.
