The general rule seems to be that you should only claim for clothing with a logo on it. Because you have to be able to prove that the clothing is only using for business purposes. If its got a logo you can definitely claim.
If you use t-shirt transfers or embroider your own you should be able to claim the costs of the materials you've used.
You can't claim for any clothing that you might wear while not childminding eg, coat, shoes/trainers, jeans etc.

It doesn't matter whether they have a logo or not.....the only requirement is that they are used exclusively for childminding only - i.e. work clothes. If you can say yes to that then you can claim them. I claim jeans, jogging bottoms, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jacket, trainers and sandles.
I think you just have to be sensible - you would have a hard time proving that you wear a posh business suit to work in-lol!!!

Sarah - just had 2 polos embroidered by www.embroideryloft.co.ukThe chap was really nice and kept sending me logos by e mail to see if I liked. Would definatlely buy from him again. I have had loads of people come and talk to me about childminding just through seeing my t shirts and people have said that it looks professional too. It also saves me having to think "what will I wear" every morning!! ;D

Just a thought - buy clothing at less than a tenner then you don't need a reciept and can put through what you want!!!
