I know this is an old post but I have to say I this has made my accounts so much easier. I can use Excel but at the moment I have neither the time or inclination to make one of these myself. So if anyone is struggling and needs a helping hand I would definitely have a look.

I bought these a few weeks ago and couldnt get them to work as i dont have xcel but downloaded the file suggested and it didnt work. The lady was lovely i emailed her for help and she did try to help me, but i wasted £15.00 I'd advise anyone who doesnt have excel not to buy.

Thanks for that Susan. I do have Excel but don't have much confidence in buying now. Why didn't the lady refund you if you couldn't get it to work. Not your fault you didn't have Excel. Seems a bit unfair to me.

I am surprised she wouldn't refund you Susan. As I said on another post I bought this package (I did have to try a few times before the payment would go through). I am so pleased with it and Lisa was really helpful. I requested she made some changes to the spreadsheet for me as we have oil instead of gas and it was no problem.
Not a very good recommendation though as it does say that it will work with the free software if you don't have Excel!!!

No I don't know her personally, just sent lots of emails ( and read her posts on another forum - sorry is that swearing!!!)
I do think you should request a refund as she does say it will work with the free download. It obviously does not for you so I think a refund is in order.

Not for childminding but I registered with www.kashflow.co.uk recently. They have a free trial. It didn't intergrate with my website but it looks like a good package.

Hi Amanda,
I emailed the lady and received the following;
I'm afraid I don't offer refunds. I have been unable to offer you any help as to what is going wrong because each time I have asked you to tell me where it saved, what exactly you are doing and the error messages you are getting you haven't replied with the details. I can't help if I don't know where the problem is. All I can do is send you the file again to see if perhaps the other one has become corrupted with the problems you are having. Save the attachment to a file on your computer, unzip it (usually you just have to either double click the zipped file, or right click and choose 'unzip') and then open the Spread32 program, find the Child's Play Accounts file and open it using the 'Open' command on the file menu. Read through the Tutorial (on the 'Details' page) to find out which cells are the ones that need to be changed. If you get a message saying 'Password Protected' then you are trying to change the cell in the wrong place. Sorry, but this is all I can do until I get more detailed details from you.
I have done my best to explain to her it wont let me do anything but it is very hard to put into words.
I know alot of people have this package and love it but steer clear if you dont have excel the download is rubbish and you will not get a refund if it doesnt work and you cant use it.

That's not very good is it, so as you say I would steer clear if you don't have Excel.
It's such a shame because it is such a fantastic and simple programme to use. Oh well, you live and learn I suppose!!!

hmmm I was looking at getting this as me and maths REALLY don't mix but this thread has made me think twice. Has anybody else had any problems? Could the lady perhaps send a test file to people to check that their system is compatible before actually purchasing the software? For those people that have got it working...it is something that you could have done yourself or is it a package you'd recommend? Really undecided on this.
