Anyone doing a halloween theme of the week?
I've been decorating the house tonight with banners and cobwebs and paperchains. Have bought a halloween cake and activities to do tomorrow for our halloween party (yes I am having it early).
What are you all doing? Im going to get them to decorate the playroom with lots of pictures and models of scary monsters etc...
Im really looking forward to it!

we've decorated the porch this afternoon with bunting, pumpkins, skulls, skeletons, cobwebs, bats and spiders. it looks really good, but not too scary! A couple of years ago we went to a party and pete dressed up in a long black cloak and wore a really scary mask with a top hat and long black hair - frightened the life out of my niece - I wanted to bulk that out and sit it on a chair in the corner but think it would frighten the mindees so am leaving that till wed night!

I've already had my halloween party - did it during half term as I have some children who only come in the holidays.
Also I get together with another couple of childminders so it's easier to do it in the holidays - we were all exhausted at the end!
Today we're making some cut-out decorations - halloween shapes cut out of black card, cover cut out piece with tissue paper and hang up - these are very effective hung in a window or give child a torch to shine on the tissue paper
Your decorations sound great

We are having our Halloween party tomorrow (a day early as well). We have decorated the house today with spiders, bats, pumpkins etc. We have also done lots of crafts relating to Halloween in the past week so we have them on display too. At the party the kids are dressing up, we are going to play games, dance and have party food - I can't wait!

Spent the morning doing loads of different arts and crafts with the kids which they enjoyed. We also made some biscuits and used halloween cookie cutters. The only problem is I got so engrossed in the next activity that I forgot they were in the oven and over cooked them - will have to warn the parents as they might break their teeth!!! ;D To cover up brown bits (not quite black!!) have let the kids decorate them with icing etc. Oh well they enjoyed themselves Dee

I've decorated (with the help of the kids), spooky hands that dangle down, cobwebs and the spiders (made out of egg cartons) that the kids made the other day.
I am going to attempt to make a pumpkin cake and if I am feeling really ambitious a pumpkin pie (the asda magazine has some great recipies in).
