Hi As I'm due my inspection before Christmas and won't have my full timers until October, I was thinking of doing a hannukah activity. Before I search the web, have any of you done this before and what activities really worked?
Many thanks

I haven't done it before but have some activity ideas. You could try making latkes (potato cakes). Children could make them with you. ( Not sure how old your mindees are). www.joi.org/celebrate/hanuk/food.shtmlYou could make Hanukkah cards. They play a dreidel game. Instructions below. www.amazingmoms.com/htm/holiday_hanukkah_dreidel.htmMake a large wall display of 8 candles (for 8 nights of Hanukkah) on a Hanukiah using tissue paper/paints etc. Ok, gone blank now. I'm sure the girls will have far more ideas than I which they have put to practice. Take care Susan x

Just had a look at the publication Nursery Education which I received this morning (August issue). It has a section in it dedicated to festivals and Hanukkah is one of them with activity ideas.
