With the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade in Britain this week I wondered if anyone was doing or had done any activities or themes on the subject. I wondered if the activity I've just added to the Social section of the website might be worked into it "How can we eat?": childmindinghelp.co.uk/social.htmlIt might bring into the discussion of how we help each other but that helping does not mean being "a slave" to someone and people should be free to help if they want but not forced into it. It's a difficult subject for younger children to grasp isn't it?

It is a bit difficult to get any learning resources about this for children If anyone is doing a topic you can get a free mag to download or phone the number and you will get a free copy May be no good for children but you may be able to get some tit-bits of information from it www.direct.gov.uk/en/slavery/DG_067157Angel xx
