Hi, i'm Emma, Im newly registered with CSIW as i'm in South Wales, I was sent a link to this site via my advert in vivastreet. Ive got my first child on Saturday 12th Aug but its only an occassional sitting job rather than contracted. Ive got three children of my own and have looked after others children in the past but only recently registered. Any tips would be appreciated??

Hi Emma, Welcome, it's so good that you could join us. You've come to the right place for tips, is there anything in particular you want tips on? Or just childminding in general? Good luck on Saturday, sometimes occasional work can easily turn into a regular thing.

Hi Emma I also in Wales and I am newly registered so thought I would say hi I registered in Sept 06 and since then have only had occasional childminding. I am hoping that it will lead to more regular work. Hope things are busier for you too. Look forward to chatting all the best xx

Hello there fellow residents of Wales!!!
I am not registered yet although I have enough children waiting to fill my spaces twice over. We do live in quite a small village so demand for childcare is quite high but I have got most of my referrals from visiting the local toddler groups. We have two groups in the village-one English and one Welsh. I have visited them faithfully for months even though I do not speak a word of Welsh (Except for counting to 10!!!) once the other parents see how you interact and play with the children they are much happier asking you to mind for them or recommend you to their friends.
Hope things get busier for you soon
Amanda xx

Hi Polly and manjay
Not sure Emma will reply to you she made that post last August
I am sure you can both chat to each other though ( and to everyone else ) You are both from Wales so it will be interesting to see how things are different to us here in England
