They have a set of 6 little people from different countries in ELC which I've bought as they go with something else my son has, they're not expensive either.
Some of the bratz dolls have different skin colours if you want something like that.
To be honest with you, I wouldn't worry too much about getting different ethnic dolls you can cover the 'subject' in lots of other ways like books, a scrapbook of people, posters, different countries food and festivals.
If it's just dolls in general you need just buy what you can afford and like as long as you can show that you cover this in different ways I can't see that it's a problem.

I got one in Toys R us for a fiver. Having said that I'm not white, so I had a number of dolls before I was even minding! Do you have any teletubbies as they are multicultural! Tasha

Depends how much you want to pay. My start up grant is to be used for multicultural resources so I bought one from SBS www.sbs-educational.co.ukMy little boy loves playing with dolls but is completely fascinated with this new one as it has little boy bits!! Amanda xx

That's weird isn't it because I was told at my pre-reg inspection that I didn't have to have multi-cultural dolls, she said she often thought it was very funny when she went round to a childminder's house and found herself sat next to a strategically placed 'black' doll and that there was no need at all as long as you covered it in other ways.
I wish they'd sort themselves out at Ofsted.

I was told the same as Lorri
Basically because most black dolls are just white dolls but just brown in colour if that makes sense.
I have got various ethnic dolls infact Charley got the brown baby Annabelle for xmas one year

I don't know about Tasha but I'm practically see-through with freckles as I'm a redhead and they don't make dolls like me! Ha ha! Actually, now I come to think about it, it's not often you see a doll with red hair never mind the see-throughness! Ofsted don't care about us redheads being represented! Charming. Lorri x

Depends on what year you catch me, as I have lighter years & darker years! Most people think I'm Spanish or Egyptian or just stare because of the shape of my eyes. I'm pretty white at the mo, but as far as ethnicity goes I'm anglo-indian. Tasha
