I love your site Tasha. It looks really professional and you ofsted report is fab.
How many policies do you have !!!!! I know we work slightly different in Wales but did you have all these policies in place before you started? I have to have all my policies/portfolio/prospectus in place before I can even submit my application form so I am finding it a really daunting prospect.
It is really nice to see that all this can be attained when you are a relatively new minder.

Hi, Thanks - my husband and I worked really hard on the website. I had 90% of the polocies in place before I started and then added some in the first couple of months. I actually have a couple more to add that I'm working on at the mo and I'm quite sure that these won't be the last. Don't feel daunted, as it's not tooo bad once you get going! If I can do it so can you Tasha

How do you introduce new policies to parents if you put them in place after contracts have been signed?

Hi,
I give them a letter saying that I've introduced a new policy and state in the letter that I'm providing them with a copy of the new policy - then I get them to sign a statement that I've made - saying that they've received a copy of so and so policy and read it. I then keep this with the contract. I also get them to sign a statement when we sign the contracts listing all my policies saying that they've received copies and read them.
Hope this makes sense.

Hi Tasha, Just had a look at your website! Its so good ! I don't think the parents here even know we have a cirriculum to follow ,they are so laid back. One thing I do wish I had is a playroom. It would make it so much nicer. We built our house last year and I said to my husband about having one but in the end we decided as the children where meant to be in a family setting we wouldn't bother. We do have a seperate lounge that they only go in to watch tv and no toys are allowed in there .The rest of the time they are in the family room.At weekends I like to put the toys away .Hubby wont let me put up art work the children do as he feels like its taking over sometimes! So they just take it home with them.
Sunday morning here .Just rang my mum and asked her to send me over some undies from Marks ans Spencers!!How sad is that !!Its amazing the things you miss!!!
Nothing planned for today so just a nice quiet day for me .

Hi, Most of the time I don't think that parents here know that we follow a curriculum either. We have a conservitory that serves as a playroom - basically it's a toys overspill from the lounge, we've always had some sort of playroom even before I was a childminder, just seemed to work out that way!!!!! I lived in the States for a while and really missed the brand of tampons I normally used! As you say funny the things you miss!!!!!! It's the small hours of Saturday night here - Am looking at a busy day tomorrow as a ton of housework and paperwork to catch up on!!!! Think of me on your nice quiet Sunday!!!! Tasha
