Im really frustrated that I have all these resources that Ive been collecting over the last 6 months or so, from websites that you girls have given and things I have sent off for. Ive got some brilliant stuff.
Ive only got a 8 month old and alot I cant do with him yet. Ive done some bits with my own children.
I have ofsted coming in January for my 1st grading, and Im worried that I cant show them what Im offering because I havent got different age groups. My kids will be at school.
If I show them will that do, I know they like to see you putting them into practise.
Do you understand what Im saying. Because putting it down makes we wonder. haha

Yes I do know what you mean but you can do a lot with a baby who will be 9 mths by that time
Have a look round the forum
Treasure baskets
Singing
Messy play
Water play
Use your imagination and fill your time when Ofsted come out and you will be fine
Some minders only care for younger children some only care for over 8s Ofsted will be fine about it so do not worry

Ofsted will want to know what you have for all ages but will need to see how you are and what you do with the children in your care

I have been thinking about this also- in same situation and have inspection coming up in next few months, I care for a 2 yr old and have an 18 mth old myself. I wondered how loosely do people adapt activities to follow themes, different cultures etc for toddlers. Hope I make sense!

Very loosely!! I adapt according to the age and stage of each child here at the time - so with a 2 year old thinking about bonfire night, we made fireworks pictures with large pieces of paper and paint, then later we made a firework with a tube and some crepe paper; we also had a chat about how her dog might get frightened and the different colours you see in the sky; she looked at fireworks on Google images and that was enough for her... she went to play dolls I had an after schooler who was interested in the firework code so we looked it up on the internet and she made a poster.... It really is about what the children enjoy doing and knowing how they learn so you can differentiate the activities for them Sarahx
