I love free courses!!! It is fairly easy at the moment though as I am not looking after children. I would say it becomes more difficult to attend them if you are working a 50 hour week.
We are starting a Language and Play one at toddler group next week and I have also been able to access more through the volunteer work I am doing. Although all are not directly related to childminding it keeps my brain ticking over. Some are fun others like phsycological domestic abuse, are not!!
Hope yours goes well today

Letters and sounds would be a great course, not available down here either but I have to say local authority here is pretty good (Poole) as most training is fully funded.
Childcare team are great at fighting the childminders corner to ensure as much training as possible is duplicated in evening sessions or a creche is provided (haven't done that yet though, has anyone else for training puposes??)
