All my children sleep downstairs I do not use upstairs at all for my minding
You could let older children nap on the sofa Or babies in their buggy or travel cot ?
If you want to let them sleep upstairs you will have to make sure that upstairs is registered to use

There is 'good practice'advice about checking sleeping babies every 15 minutes..... blowed if i'm traipsing upstairs all the time with toddlers in tow! They sleep downstairs - on sofa (older children only due to risk of suffocation) or in a travel cot / buggy if I'm going out Older ones go up, but only with my children when invited Sarahx

Older ones go up, but only with my children when invited Sarahx but again only if the upstairs is registered for use, minded children cannot go into any room that has not been passed by Ofsted - just clarifying for Jojo.

Absolutely Pauline! I had my loft done a couple of years ago and can't let children up there - it's stated on my certificate..... and there's a lock on the door The rest of the house has been Ofsteded - although quite quickly I have to say cos my lot were all in bed when she came as it was the school holidays LOL Sarahx

I have every room okayed for use by ofsted but only use downstairs at the moment (apart from the loo and bathroom which unfortunately upstairs). I had my computer room okayed so that older children can use it and also the bedrooms so if I want to then I can put babies down to sleep. Don't use them but made it so much more easier then getting Ofsted back if I needed to.
My logic is get all rooms okayed you don't have to use them but better that then needing them and not being able to use them
hope that makes sense

Im the same kate, the whole house can be used, except ensuite bathroom. (put all the mess in the when ofsted came the other week!!!!!)
I do put babies to sleep in bedrooms in travel cots, and older ones sleep upstairs too. But i dont let them play in my childrens rooms, unless my children are there and have invited them.

I am the same as Lou, including en-suite used as dumping ground if necessary!!
Seemed easier to get Ofsted to do everything at once and use it if necessary, I have gone in phases with using upstairs depending on ages of children, but only for sleeping uless invited by my kids
