Hi,
sorry didnt know where to put this so please move it if its in the wrong place.
I'm not yet registered i'm waiting on my CRB check its at stage 4 at the moment. I'm planning on advertising in my window and local spar shop and in the local raf newsletter. But when should i start advertising i think i have all my paperwork done just ahve a few finishing touches to do to my welcome pack and portfolio.
So when would you start advertising?
Also i have a spare room that i was going to use as a play room but my husband and i are planning on starting our own family in which case i was then going to use it as a sleeping room. I'm not pregnant yet so should i start using this as a playroom to start with or do you think it would be awkward to try and keep the children out of there when it becomes a sleeping room?
thanks in advance
Louise xx

I would say wait until your CRB is back. How long have you been waiting for it - it might be worth phoning to chase it up. You will need your certificate of registration and insurances in place before you can mind.
Once all this is in place you can start your full on advertising and you can enter your details on CIS (if you local cis works the same as ours they get confirmation from OFSTED that you are registered and then they will put your details on the system but it is up to you to make sure that they are correct and up to date).
Regarding the room - it will be on your certificate that this room is a playroom so you would have to change it when you swop it too the bedroom.

Hi Louise, I agree with ViK, apart from the room you are planning to use as a playroom/bedroom, do you have a space for all the toys etc? I think once you use it as a play room it will be difficult to change this, not just for the kids but for you, you'll be supprised how much room the toys take up X

i have bought a storage unit for downstairs in my living room and that is full already! but i do have a little bit of room left downstairs where i can put more storage things. But i'm going to have that same problem when the playroom is a bedroom anyway. I have a big loft too!

Hi, I agree with the above i would wait for the CRB to come back at least before advertising & wouldn't use the sleeping room as a playroom at all. Tasha

like as been said, wait for the crb to come through, do you know of any childminding groups in your area where you could go and meet other childminders, it is another good source of advertising yourself,
