What does everyone have planned?
I was in Hobbycraft the other day and they have a different craft workshop on each day. Unfortunately as the shop is in Cheshire all the activities are planned for this week and we are not off until next week!!
A little silly really as the shop is situated only about a mile from the Welsh border so you think it would make sense to do something to cater for both sets of children. I did put my views to the store staff and the manager came to speak to me. Said it had never even entered their head and they would certainly arrange it differently next time!! Result!!
My daughter was gutted as she loves the workshops there so ended up trawling the shop for something to placate her (and it is not the cheapest shop). I picked up one of the advent calenders you colour and make yourself and she said but where do you put the chocolate?". A sign of the times I suppose, she really wasn't interested in my "When I was a child" stories!!!

that's the sort of question my granddaughter would ask, at least you know next year you will be able to go to the workshops with her, it is nice when you can get a good result, even though its not till next year. I myself am having a good clear out this week, as I havent any little ones to look after, my daughter is now on maternity leave so she has the grandchildren and my mindee are with mum, so I have my own result, no kids for a whole week

Dont start me off about advent calendars!! Why oh why do shops put them on display at the tills at the begining of october? Its ridiculous!! Everytime im in a shop that sells them I've got the battle of trying to explain to Izzy that they are for december nearer christmas. Small children just cannot grasp the concept... they just think its a fun way to eat chocolate. I think shops should only be allowed to sell the advent calendars the last week of november!! Oh its gets me angry!! Lol Amanda. I can just imagine the conversation with your daughter. xx

i used to work in wooloworths and the reason the advent calendars o out that early is because people start asking for them in cotober, they didnt used to be put out till november but people started asking for them in october so now shops put them out in october.
Its the same with easter eggs they go out after christmas becasue thats when people ask for them!

Did you Carol well that is soooo very weird
So we have used the same staff room etc etc weird
I worked there for a short time around 10 years ago I think
They have changed it a lot now but when I worked there the tills were close to the doors and we all used to freeze
Wonder if there is anyone there that we both knew

It has changed loads since I was there.
Tills were at front, middle and the back.
I was mostly on the music counter which was great as I chose what records ( yes records and tapes back then) to play.
Don't suppose any of the staff would have been the same but you never know.
How about Marilyn Jarrot? Mr Skerrit? Can't think of anyone else, how awful, well it was over 20 years ago.

Tomorrow we are going to the Safari Park Wednesday we are going to the all you can eat buffet at the chinese restaurant ;D (start diet next week) (will have to try and monitor one of mindees, last time she had loads of food, followed it with ice cream and then tucked into a huge bowl of currey Thursday we are going to Enginuity, one of the ironbridge museums and friday we are off to Chester zoo! And to top it all i'm finishing off friday hosting a virgin vie party...all welcome if you are close enough! Anybody going to be at these places at the same time? I will be the one hugging a large flask of coffee to keep me going!!!!

Monkey you have a full timetable - sounds great, I hope the weather holds and you all have a lovely time. Obviously one of your poor mindees is not getting fed enough at home (or was it her week to be fed? lol) Hah - regarding the carseats, I decided to go in my own car and follow the coach this morning, Watching them load up, not ONE person took a car seat on for the kids (and half the nursery was going).

We've been to a farm park today - Hubby had the day off so was on hand to deal with our 2! This afternoon we made rainbow shakers with the rice left over from the Rangoli pictures last week and then made p some songs! No plans as such for tomorrw - have an 11 month old - going to make a shker for her and do some music things. Wednesday going to do leaf prints which we will cut out & stick around a leaf poem I found, will laminate them before sending home. Have the rest of the week off after that - apart from my 2 of course!
I have bought 2 advent calanders from pheonix cards - 1 is hello around the world - 24 different languages! The other is Christmas around the world - cant wait ;D

I used to work in Woolies too as a Saturday and holiday job - I loved it.
Kate - enjoy Sherwood Forest - that's just down the road from me.
Tomorrow we're having our Halloween party (I know it's not Halloween yet but we couldn't wait any longer)
Will probably be shattered tomorrow night and then will do it all again next week
