hi
do we need to have a copy of a 'Local Safeguarding Children Board Guidlines?'
I have just come across one Ofsted report and it said the childminder didn't have a copy of it...Needless to say, she was given a 'good'...do we need a copy?
Thanx

Hi
No you dont need to have a copy of your 'local safeguarding children' guidelines you just need to be familiar with them and know where to access them. You can access them on your local safeguarding children board website ( I saved mine to my favourites ) and in local libraries. Also when i checked out my local website there was a section i could fill in so that if there are any changes i will get an email informiing me.
Hope this helps

I'm not sure if this is the same but I know you do need it- What to do if you're worried a child is being abused-summary It can be downloaded at www.everychildmatters.gov.ukor ring 0845 60 555 60 quote ref: 04319-2006bkt-EN I got given mine on my pre reg, and was asked about it on my inspection

Hi Jo
This booklet ' what to do if you're worried a child is beig abused' isn't the same thing - the two work hand in hand with each other.
You are expected to have a copy of the leaflet : tel.no. 0845 60 222 60, ref. 04319-2006BKT-EN and have access to your local safeguarding children board procedures.

I was told when my local Retained Functions Officer came to visit that you have to have uptodate information available for parents and have the new leaflet etc and she told me to update my policys document on child protection to include the information regarding the new LADO and new procedures etc
