Your business so your rules so it really is up to you what you charge for
I would charge full fees though if a child is off sick or for any other reason
I would also charge for their holidays They may not want the same as you so you could lose out
Good luck

thanks for all help i dident know if people would pay full price for when they are on holiday or sick. If you lot do it then obviously they do will change that. Trips 4 payed ones like monkey world etc all the ones i can do for free like seafront or queen elizabeth country park no charge do you all do more paying trips then. Great advice many thanks.

i would say 'we will go on regular outings to fulfil my obligations to Ofsted - some of the outings will be free and others will cost you extra. I will always inform you in advance and complete a full risk assessment for all outings. If you choose not to send your child on an outing day due to the extra cost, please give me as much notice as possible' That way, you are telling them it will cost money, but you are giving them a get-out... Yes! I agree. Cover your back re hols & sick leave (full pay if they're off and no charge if you're off) and don't put a number on the trips! Great stuff! Lisa xx

hello sorry for the late input but i would reccomend you put parents holidays - full fee and your holidays - no fee because parents all get paid in their normal jobs holiday pay, they are the ones on holiday and so they wont be paying twice for care and i have had no problems with parents when i charge fee whilst they are away i think you may be cutting yourself short here coz potentially you will lose out on approx 2 months pay a year if you both use 4 weeks holidays

"2 weeks for me and you" - would be up to 4 weeks. But as the parents might all take their holiday at different times would get a lower income for several weeks across the year.
Better to have reduced or no income only for your own holiday where you remain in control of when your money will be lower. (you will have additional times when your income will unexpectedly reduce - your family's sickness, funerals etc, best to minimise this as much as possible) And if you are going to reduce/waive fees for parents holiday I strongly suggest you only do so if you've had, say at least 8 weeks notice of annual holiday so you can plan your budget. If you haven't had the notice of holiday as stated in the contract you charge full fees.
The way I do it is to have 1/2 fees at xmas & easter. Any other holiday I take is no charge and if parents choose to take any other holiday they pay full fees.

Agree with Stacie, I would charge full fee for parents holidays/ occasional days off and no fee for your holiday. I tell my parents if I am working I charge full fee (only exception is Bank Holidays, which I do not work but do charge full fee) I like the £1 per day for school holidays though, never heard that one before.
