Well I sat my ICP exam last night and boy was it hard. We have had a few practice papers over the last few weeks and I did really well in them but I think it will be a miracle if I pass this one. I just couldn't concentrate and it didn't help that my son had had me up since 4am that morning! The questions were so tricky as you could have easily of picked a few of the answers, instead of the actual one they wanted. Has anyone else found it difficult? emma x

Good luck for Saturday Kaz. Really hope we both pass. I know we can re-take if we don't but it'd be really good to have another box ticked.

Answer like childcare professionals and not mums, iyswim and you will be fine. My husband passed after missing half the sessions and not "revising" so it may not be as bad as you think!!
Good luck

The exam didn't get off to a good start because the boiler had packed up and there was no heat in the room whatsoever. We were frozen to our cold plastic chairs!
Oh and most of the class forgot to bring a pencil (we were told the college would supply pencils but it didn't) and the adjudicator was furious. One of the girls had to dash off to the college shop to buy pencils and the exam got held up. Have to admit it was really funny though ;D.
No idea how I did but I was last to finish because I was busy re-reading everything for the 20th time lol. Had to guess on several questions but I was so happy just to get out of the exam hut and into the main building where there was warmth.
Any of my fellow classmates here reading this? I'm sure you'll recognise the description lol ;D

How long do you have to wait to get the results? I don't know how long I'll have to wait for the results. I completely forgot to ask, silly me! I doubt it'll be this side of Xmas though. If I have to re-take in Feb I'm sure I'll be less nervous. I feel it could go either way so I have my fingers crossed Anyway, I'm now officially redundant from my office job (as of 45 mins ago) so I can now begin my new life as a childminder. I'm happy and scared at the same time.

I know what you mean about it being scary as I felt the same when I was made redundant 10 years ago.
But believe me you will soon settle down and once you start minding everything will be fine.

i did mine on wednesday and thought it was really easy! I'd finished after 10 mins but sat and read it through again and again.
We dont have to pass the exam though, in our area all we have to do is attend the classes so some of my classmates didnt even attempt the exam

well, it's done & over with (hopefully!) Some of the questions were very ambiguous so not 100 % confidant but quietly confidant that I did well enough to pass...certainly hope so!! We were told the results come through in about 4 weeks fingers tightly crossed for us all Karen
