oh Monkey that is sad. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery but to try and poach your mindees - well thats below the belt.
Is it just this particular person that you are fed up with? It sounds like you've been a great support minder - do you really want to resign totally or just drop her?

Wierd! but they do say that imitation is the best form of flattery.
If I were you I wouldn't have resigned but would have asked for her to be removed from my support list and explained why!

To be honest girls, i'm thinking about getting out of the whole network thing, not just support. Our network manager only seems to be any good to those minders who are .... what i might describe as 'yes' people and not those who actually voice an opinion. therefore it feels like a few of us who tend to stick together are a little alienated! info isn't passed on etc. i even text her to see which venue the meeting was in for a recent meeting and i am still waiting a reply. It seems as the only time we get anything out of it is when the network is coming under review etc. What do we get out of the network anyway, not much in recognition. my ofsted inspector wasn't interested, and potential parents never ask etc. It's a leaving a bitter taste in my mouth. At the end of the day i do this job cause i love the children!

My network co-ordinatoe is useless too - nine times out of ten - I keep her informed & she passes the info on to the other minders!!!! Must admit I'm fed up with the network too - she's already told me I'm the best minder on it - yet always writes something incorrect on my forms for me to improve on -(she hads me the forms as she walks out the door) then her next visit I point out to her it's wrong & I arready do/have her suggestion & she just ticks what's she written, as if she has somehow improved my setting - really p***** me off!!! Thank god i'm not the only one thinking this way Tasha! Thinking of going above her head to resign so it's noticed as a complaint, what do you reckon?

Well - if it was me I wouldn't resign - I'd just complain...but if you've decided to resign then yes i'd do that! Tasha

Yep, think i'm going to do it! going to sleep on it and decide for tommorrow. all i can think about is the plus points about leaving, ie more evenings freed up for family life. i@m still willing to do training etc and i don't think my parents care if i'm part of the network etc. Perhaps i ought to phone and say i'm thinking of giving up and then stress my grievencies face to face, what do you think? P.s just looked at your website....it's amazing!

Well, I attended my first "training" session yesterday for this support minding and phew it seems like a fair bit of work!!!! We also covered the vacancy co-ordinator bit too so I am totally up to my eyes in it.
The scheme is actually an NCMA one not the network (it has replaced it) so I guess we shall see how it goes.

It is suppose to be the sincerest form of flattery but b***dy annoying as I too have a mini me!!
I kinda treat her as if she were a mindee .. ha ha .. hopefully she'll get bored and move on to the next person QUICKLY.

Down in Torbay the Network, the network co-ordinators, support childminders are FANTASTIC (and I do mean to shout - they are!!) Three years on I still contact my support childminder as she is now my buddy, we meet regularly and have set up a group that has grown and out grown our original venue.
And just to combine the two topics on this thread, I would like to be as knowledgeable as she is, and have copied a lot of what she does, as she does it so well!! Wouldn't go as far as Monkey1's 'pal' though!!
