When i had my first OFSTED visit, i wasnt told i had to write a risk assessment? I told them i do one before i start work everyday by checking toys, garden, children's equipment etc and they were quiet happy with that?
Has it all changed now?

A lot of childminders do seem to have a form for a risk assessment but it does not matter if you do not
It does sound to me like you know what you are doing and like you said Ofsted were happy with that so If I was you I would just continue with what you are doing
Most people just make a table of what they are checking and tick it off each day / week / month
Do not worry about it I do the same as you although I do have a form that I do not use I can send it to you if you want to take a look someone else passed it onto me Pm and give me your email addy if you want to take a look

I require risk assessment as i have a idea for attracting new customers and as a service for local community.
I have a friend who is a music teacher for young children and we had an idea off holding a 1 hour session per week for under fives.
Spoke to ofsted and they were really positive and want me to write them a letter including a risk assessment to see how many children they will allow me. (parents will be asked to stay)
What do you all think???

I don't think a risk assessment form has to be complicated. A simple form with: date area assessed hazards/risks identified actions to take and then a section to tick 'actions complete' when the work has been done or the risk removed. Just fill it in as you study the area or room for risk. Hope that helps
