Something to chat about later then ha
Most childminders that I have been reading about have been told to now concentrate on this and not Birth to Three
Yet others have been told not to worry about it till next year
How confusing
Looks like I will be doing some activities etc on this next ha

It does not seem as good as the birth to three pack
The cards are just paper too where as in the birth to three they were stronger made with card

I got my copy last week, was impressed that it took 2 days to arrive. I was talking to my friend the other week about it as she works in our local preschool (I used to work there too) and she said my other friend who is the supervisor did not know much about ot or have a copy and siad to her that I had downloaded a copy and that she should thiink downloading it too. Anyway she did, but since then my friend who I was taliking to has phoned for 2 copies now.
I am now trying to find some time to go through it whcih I don't think will be this weekend having a good clear our.

Did anyone actually have a good read of theirs yet? We all sort of moaned that it was late arriving then when we received it none of us REALLY looked at it if you know what I mean
I had a quick glimpse at mine and I have still not had a real good look I am not wasting my bedtime reading on it - give me a good book anyday ha

Sounds like we have all done the same - mine is also collecting dust!
When it arrived I opened up the front flap looked at it and thought 'yep that will have to wait' shut the flap back up and haven't gone back to it since.

Hi, Glad I'm not the only one to have just had a quick flick - will have to read properly though as one of the things I read said that it only applied untill children went to school, but in another section explained that it replaced the 0-8 National Standards - What about 5-8 year olds?! Must admit only read a bit so question will probably answer itself! Tasha

thanks angel i am not sure why nottinghamshire took so long to send it out but noone actually ordered it the local eydcp sent them to all registered childminders. i've also flicked through it but i've left it right in front of the keyboard so i have to lean on it every time i type. it may encourage me to read it.
altho prob not i'll probably just rest my tea on it.

Hi
I'm probably being a bit thick but does every childminder automatically get an EYFS information pack or is it something that you need to apply for. I have been so bogged down with other paperwork that anything about EYFS has completely gone over my head

i'm not sure if all childminders will automatically be sent it when it comes into force, but certainly for now you will need to ring up and order one. will see if i can find phone number, think i phoned early years for mine.

I did put the information on here with the phone number - somewhere
I did hear that they are going to be sending them out but not sure when - or why when so many of us have got them now anyway
I will see if I can find the number unless Caroline finds it

You will be surprised how much you are already doing! Also, you could extend the B23 activities that Angel posted so that they suit up to age 5 to meet the 'Learning and Development' area.
