I have one of the fold up sleeping mats like they use in a nursery. I think i got it from one of the early years catologues. It is easy to anti bac and fit a cot sheet on. My inspector said it was just the job.
Can't see from the picture whether this one would be easy to clean. If it is a sleeping bag it may take ages to wash and dry.

I have got one of these, I have used it when we go camping for my 18 month old, we are led next to her. They are good- got to admit I haven't washed it yet. The material which covers the child is very thin but should be fine for during the day. Could you not use the matress to the travel cot on the floor?

hi thanks for that. Thank you for the link, Angel, didnt quite know what the mats looked like. It just seems wrong that the child should sleep on the floor... the blow up bed may be nicer?
Thanks for your help. Jana

I know what you mean about them sleeping almost on the floor
My daughter and one of the moms who's children I mind both work in a nursery
All the children sleep on these at both of their nurseries

I use exercise mats from tesco! They were less than four quid each , they fold up for storage and they are wipeable! I just cover them in a blanket ( seperate ones for each child) and then pop a blanket on top of the child. My little mindee used to scream in a travel cot and would only go to sleep in the pram but now i just say "shall Paula get your bed out so you can have a nap?" he runs off to grab his blankets and he is asleep in minutes! ;D

I too use a ready bed which the kids all love as they are really comfy and cosy as well and they're that little it of the floor and small enough not to fall out of

you would need a ready bed for each child due to children needing their own bedding, may be costly if you have more than one child

If you do go for a ready bed - get one that is not a 'my 1st' as they are smaller than the others so not as versatile. If you use one as a matress rather than ib the sleeping bag bit & put a sheet over it all it would be more re-usable. I find children are happier with a light sheet over them in the day as they are too hot in full bedding. Personally I think I woulld go for a sleep mat, or you can get the fold out childrens chairs that turn into a little bed.

My 2 year old sleeps on a matress on the floor - the matress fits inside my baby dan and my little one sleeps in "his house" . When he's tired he is happy to lie down and go to sleep and when he's asleep I shut the gate so that I know he's safe . The babydan is only used as his "sleeping house", he doesn't go in there unless he is going to sleep.
